It seems as though music ran through the veins of the Cash family. Johnny’s oldest brother, whose name was Roy, was a part of a band that played around Arkansas called Dixie Rhythm Ramblers.
The entire family would often sing together, sometimes around the table at their grandparent’s and sometime at their own home. Johnny wouldn’t just sing for his family – he would also sing at school and church. One time, he even won five dollars at a talent contest.
