It was only once Cash was older did he start to take singing more seriously. It would not be until he was in the Air Force that he decided to buy his first ever guitar, but pretty quickly, he was not only singing and playing, but also writing songs as well.
He even joined a band made up of men serving in the Air Force, called the Landsberg Barbarians. It was from then that he began singing.
