Between 1985 and 1995, Johnny Cash teamed up with three fellow artists to create a country music supergroup. Together with Waylon Jennings, Kristofferson and Willie Nelson, the four of them became “The Highwaymen.”

These four pioneers in the outlaw country subgenre recorded three major label albums together and performed as a group from time to time. They also produces three chart singles, one of which was the hit song “Highwayman,” which they released in 1985.
