During his career, Cash did not release one album recorded live in a prison, but two albums. In 1968 he released the album Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison and in 1969, just one year later, he released the album Johnny Cash at San Quentin.
Both of these albums were the most popular and best-selling ones he produced throughout the duration of his career. Well, we’re guessing it is because there is nothing that attracts a crowd like a bad-boy singing to bad-boys.
