After he had nearly wiped out an entire species of bird single-handedly, it was only natural that the birds were lying in wait to get their revenge. Well, in 1981, they did. Cash had ostriches that he was raising on his property, which sometimes disciplined by using the stick.
One of these ostriches were not too happy about having the stick used on him and kicked Cash with his massive, clawed foot, opening up his belly and forcing him to hold his insides together as he ran to the hospital.
