Once, when he was on a methamphetamine binge, Cash started a forest fire in the Los Padres National Wildlife Refuge. He was in a camper he had names Jesse James, when an oil leak in the camper eliminated nearly all of the endangered condors in the area.
Apparently Cash had said at the time: “I don’t give… about your yellow buzzards.” He was sued by the American Government for starting a forest fire, making him the first person to ever be sued for this reason.
