There are only 14 people in the acting world who won an Academy Award for their portrayal of an individual who was still living. Sandra is among those 14 actors. As we mentioned earlier, Sandra won her Oscar by portraying Leigh Anne Tuohy, the adoptive mother of NFL free agent Michael Oher.
Leigh Anne is still very much alive and was in the audience with her husband Sean when Sandra won her Academy Award and gave her heartwarming speech.
