Born Edna Rae Gillooly on December 7th 1932, the now Ellen Burstyn is most famously known for her roles in ‘The Last Picture Show’ (1971), ‘The Exorcist’ (1973), ‘Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’ (1975), and ‘Requiem for a Dream’ (2000).
In the late ‘50s, Ellen began her career in theatre and slowly moved over to more and more on-screen roles as the years went by. She was an avid activist of many causes during the ‘70s and ‘80s.
