Paparazzi following the royals and their paramours on holiday is nothing new. In the 1970s Princess Margaret – who, as any fan of The Crown knows, was the most interesting royal back then – was photographed in the Caribbean with a landscape gardener called Roddy Llewellyn, while she was still in her unhappy marriage with Antony Armstrong-Jones. Apparently after Princess Margaret died, the Queen thanked the woman who’d introduced her to Roddy, because he’d made Margaret so happy.
