Cats are often seen as narcissistic animals (it’s not their fault, really – the thing is that they were worshiped as gods in ancient Egypt, and they have not forgotten this), so we would expect to see a cat checking themselves in the mirror and looking quite satisfied with that they see.
This kitty actually looks a bit distressed, as if they’re thinking “I’m not that ugly… am I?” No, kitty, you’re beautiful. The mirror is just distorting your reflection.
