We love our pets, and it’s only natural for us to think that our own pups and kittens are the cutest in the entire world. Which is interesting if we stop to think about it, because they actually have no idea how adorable they are (well, the cats maybe do). Having a little animal at home is fascinating and highly entertaining, because we get to watch what it is like to function solely on instinct.
Things that we as humans have learned to deal with from a very young age are completely foreign to a dog, or to a piglet, and it’s always hilarious to watch them interacting with objects we take for granted. Placing a mirror in front of our pets, for example, can yield the funniest reactions, as we can see from the examples below. From the doggo who seems to be giving himself a pep talk to the cat discovering her own ears, we’re loving these pets who are seeing themselves in the mirror for the first time.

Apricot was adopted shortly after his birth, and he grew up hearing that he was “a part of the family,” so he figured he was a human just like his “mom” and “dad.” Sure, he was significantly shorter than them, but hey, people come in all shapes and sizes, right?
Then came the day when he decided to climb the bathroom sink. One look in the mirror, and Apricot realized he was never a human. He was – gasp! – a cat!
