Eventually Dominique went to speak with her father, in an effort to find out why Jennifer had been put up for adoption. Dumitru Moceanu was very ill at this time, but Dominique was determined to get some answers.
He revealed that he was worried the Moceanus would not be able to afford Jennifer’s medical bills, and as such he put her up for adoption. Dominique found out that he had made the decision without even consulting her mother, Camelia, giving Jennifer up before she even had a chance to hold her.
