Tenorio said that he obliged Sestini’s wishes and had a look around where he picked the man up for his wife. The sailor searched the area but was unable to find Bittencourt, and eventually they returned to the yacht club.
Tenorio said that Sestini explained he and his wife were alone on the boat that day. He said he heard reports of Bittencourt jumping in to save her dogs, but her husband suggested they weren’t there to be saved in the first place.
