Sestini was rescued by a sailor named Roberto Tenorio, who heard his cries for help. Tenorio said he spotted Sestini’s hand and moved quickly to pull him onto the boat. Once on the boat, Tenorio said that Sestini was in a state of shock and was very nervous.
Despite being adrift for many hours, Tenorio said that Sestini was adamant they needed to do something to find Bittencourt. He was panicking because he couldn’t see her anywhere, even from up high on the boat.
