The storm separated Sestini and Bittencourt, but he still jumped into the water in a desperate attempt to save his wife’s life. No matter how hard he looked for Bittencourt, he simply couldn’t find her, but now he was in danger too.
In all the time he spent looking for his wife, the boat they had both been on had drifted away completely. There was no sign of it, and with no clear direction, Sestini had to wait and hope someone would find him before he was totally exhausted.
