In order to document her mother’s unique and unbelievable journey, Gail wrote a wonderful book entitled “White Like Her,” in order to help Alvera’s story reach far and wide and make a difference in the lives of many people — irrespective of their race, gender or heritage.
Through her book, Gail wants to promote equality of all races, and encourage the people to treat them in a fair manner, so that no other person of color would have to undertake the horrible quest of concealing her own identity in order to fit into the society.
