Technology has made it possible for people to basically get a date on the swipe of a finger, but up until a few decades ago, single folks had to try harder.
In the 1970s, for example, one option was to actually advertise yourself on publications like the “Singles News Register,” filled with ads of men and women looking for a partner. People would write a little bit about themselves, and talk about what they were looking for in a boyfriend or girlfriend. Not that different from today’s dating apps, but… analogical.
