Although Tate struggled maintaining friendships when she was younger, her confidence slowly began to grow. Her beauty was something that people couldn’t ignore, and it led to Sharon entering a host of pageants during her teens.
In total, Tate won a host of beauty pageants, even winning five different competitions in 1959. As she was blossoming into a star, it was only a matter of time before Tate would take her new-found confidence to Hollywood, where she sought acting work.
