While Tate and Polanski began their relationship, the film director explained to his partner that he didn’t want a housewife, he wanted her to be a hippie. This may have come across as controlling, but Tate embraced the lifestyle and became friends with some of the brightest talent of the 1960s.
Parties at their home were common, and Tate befriended superstars like Jim Morrison, Peter Fonda, and Mia Farrow. The couple would throw parties at their home where they reportedly welcomed just about anyone to have a good time.
