Tate was introduced to her future husband, Roman Polanski, during the mid-1960s through their mutual friend, producer Martin Ransohoff. The pair admitted that it was not love at first sight, with both of their reputations preceding them.
Polanski felt that Tate was too naive and innocent, but they grew on each other, and they married in January 1968. Unfortunately for this couple, they would only have a short time together before Tate lost her life when she was attacked in her own home.
