You don’t need a lot of elbow grease to clean a dirty microwave – this is one of those cases you can work smarter, not harder. In a microwave-safe bowl, add 1/2 cup of water, the peel of one lemon, and half of its juice.
Microwave it on high for three minutes, and let it stand in there for another five minutes – the steam will help loosen all the gunk, so keep that door closed. Carefully open the door, remove the bowl, and proceed with the cleaning. You’ll be surprised at how easy it will be.
