Spilling red beverages on your light-colored carpet doesn’t have to be a living nightmare. In fact, there are plenty of ways you can keep the stain from setting, like this popular old-school method involving a whole lot of salt.
According to this hack, the first thing you need to do is blot the area with an absorbent cloth or paper towels, to remove as much of the moisture as possible. Completely cover the stain with salt, let it sit for a few hours until it feels dry, and then vacuum everything up.
