The whole point of a range hood filter is to collect grease, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they become pretty… greasy. That’s why you should make it a point to clean it regularly, otherwise it loses its effectiveness.
Fill a bucket with boiling water, some dish soap, and 1/4 cup baking soda. Submerge the exhaust fan filters in the mixture, carefully, because the water’s hot. Let it soak for 10 minutes, scrub with a soft brush, and rinse.
