There’s nothing like the scent of freshly-baked bread, still warm from the oven, eaten with room-temperature butter that just glides on each slice… hmmm! But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The only problem with freshly-baked bread is that it can be so difficult to slice.
To avoid any snagging and dragging and crumbling, the trick is to work with a hot knife. Very carefully, dip your knife in boiling water for a few seconds, just enough for it to heat, wipe the blade dry, and enjoy those nice, clean cuts.
