We get that the female body is a complex thing, but it seems to be a complete mystery to some men. These guys seem to think that women all get their periods at the same time, that they die as soon as they run out of eggs, and that their genes change as soon as they get married. Sure, this makes total sense. Why wouldn’t the ovaries explode when you lift something heavy? Did this girl’s dad think the ovaries were like tiny little balloons inside the body, that can explode whenever you apply pressure on them?
Hopefully, when she grew up, she explained to him that not only it doesn’t work like that, but the female body is somewhat stronger than he’d thought. It would make a great excuse for not doing housework, though – “I can’t lift that, honey. Did you want my ovaries to explode?”
