There is something about acceptant speeches that make it very obvious how stars truly feel about certain things, and certain people. Perhaps their emotional state makes them forget to keep up appearances.
Hilary Swank was known as the far less famous actress wife of Emmy-winning actor Chad Lowe. That was before she blew everyone away with her performance in Boys Don’t Cry, a role that won her her first Oscar. In her acceptant speech she “forgot” to thank her husband, and soon enough he was her outshined ex-husband.
