This moment got so much attention, it actually turned into a popular meme. During an interview in the early 00s, a German paparazzi asked Mariah Carey what she thought of the new star J.LO. Mariah smiled innocently, shook her head and said “I don’t know her”. This was a blatant lie, as she and J.Lo had crossed paths at events and award shows already.
But to this day Mariah Carey pulls this stunt as soon J.LO and other big female singers are mentioned. Mariah doesn’t share the spotlight, period.
