The photo in question actually came from a video. In 2017, when he was 48 years old, Will Smith went bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls, which straddle the border between the African countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was something that had been on his bucket list for the past 20 years, and he wasn’t going to give up the opportunity to document the experience for posterity.
Holding a GoPro camera as he went, he filmed the entire thing. Some eagle-eyed fans, however, chose to freeze a particular frame that looked strikingly familiar somehow. Peering back at them, upside though he was at the time, was not Will Smith but James Avery, better known as Uncle Phil.
