With Jennifer’s experiment taking place in London, Ontario, some have suggested that the results may not be necessarily true all over the world. However, the ocean advocacy group Oceana carried out a much larger experiment all across the United States in 2013.

They also found similar results to Jennifer’s. Out of the 449 fish samples tested from markets, grocery stores, and restaurants, 21% of these were mislabelled – Sea Bass and Snapper fish had the highest rates of mislabelling.
