The point of automatic doors is to make it easy for people to enter and exit a building. They work by sensing when someone is nearby and then opening accordingly. Unfortunately, that means if someone stands near the doors without moving, they just stay open constantly.
This person was clearly after that, which is why they were talking on the phone while waiting by the front door. It might be alright for them, but what about everyone else inside? Maybe they don’t want the cold from outside coming in.
