As the leader of one of the biggest rock bands in the world, Freddy Mercury’s passing left a large hole in many Queen fans’ hearts. Mercury kept his health issues as private as possible, instead preferring to focus on his music career as much as possible toward the end.
This photograph of him in a garden is thought to be the last image taken of the star in 1991. Just one day before his passing Mercury released a statement about his illness and urged the world to rise up and fight against it.
