After spending the whole day in turmoil, Christie was on her way home when she received a text message from her dad insisting that they needed to chat at home tonight. Whatever he had to tell her, he didn’t want to say it over the phone.
Christie’s heart sank into her chest – if someone insists they need to speak to you in person, that rarely means that it’s going to be good news. Unfortunately for Christie and her family, it was terrible news. It was something they never could have imagined.
