Surprisingly enough, especially considering the other photos that share some commonalities with this shot, there is nothing special about the crowd when it comes to the differences between these shots. It is actually easier to get lost in the crowd.
The first difference is someone who needed some alone time on the beach. In fact, they needed to be fully alone, so they disappeared. Second, on the lone rock, a white rectangle has been erased. Lastly, a mountain has grown on the horizon. It is a truly wondrous geological event, with no scientific explanation.
