The remake of Carrie wasn’t exactly on everyone’s priority list, to say the least. Given that nobody wanted the movie in the first place, it was no wonder the box office results were so awful. However, on top of this, the casting was completely wrong.
The protagonist, Carrie, is meant to be a shy, awkward, outcast that is tormented and tortured by her school bullies. Therefore, when Chloe Grace Moretz was cast to play her, everyone was a little confused. Moretz is known for playing more confident roles, so nobody loved seeing her in a new, vulnerable state.
