If you read the Philip Roth novel that this movie was based on, then you’ll know there was one huge error in casting Anthony Hopkins as Coleman Silk. The character is supposed to be a light-skinned African-American who is a Jewish professor.
Unfortunately, no amount of squinting was going to turn Anthony Hopkins into that character. What was stranger was that the young version of him was played by Wentworth Miller – the two of them look absolutely nothing alike!
