As a director, M. Night Shyamalan can either create the most spectacular movies or leave us wishing we had never watched it in the first place. He has made a few appearances in his own movies, usually taking on a Hitchcock-style cameo role just to be featured.
However, in movies such as Lady in the Water, people really wished that he had stuck to being a director just once. He kind of ruined the entire film, and people worried that he would continue to act, but it would seem he has taken a back seat again.
