The man decided to give his ex the benefit of the doubt. If she didn’t have time to find a roommate, then he would do it for her. In fact, he was able to find a few potential roommates, and many of them were mutual friends.
Because she knew them, the man couldn’t understand why she would ever say no to these options. The man had done everything for her, but his ex simply ignored him because she wanted to keep him on the lease and force him to pay his half of the rent while she lived alone.
