As long as we’re on the topic of pencils, let’s discuss how annoying the task of pencil sharpening can be. You can sharpen your pencil so perfectly that you think you won’t have to do it for another month – only to find, like in this picture, that the tip is looser than a first grader’s baby tooth.
It’s no surprise that mechanical pencils got so popular – people were just sick and tired of dealing with this mess, literally and figuratively.
