Though Meghan had reportedly in the process of becoming a British citizen, it was never realized before the couple’s departure to Canada. Now, there is the possibility that Harry himself may one day apply for US citizenship. At first glance, that might create complications for Harry in terms of taxation and his royal status.
He may even have to renounce his titles since there is an American requirement to relinquish foreign titles upon naturalization. These could be obstacles that may make it an unacceptable proposition for Harry.
