When living as a direct part of the royal family, the couple were not allowed to engage in personal activities not decided for them. Now that they’ve become independent figures, they can not only work again, but they can donate time to charities of their own choosing.
In fact, they launched their new involvement in the community by volunteering their time at a back-to-school charity event designed to help struggling families provide basic necessities for their children. Even so, this does likely mark the end of their charitable events tied to the royal family.
