[post_page_title]About as necessary as the actual movie[/post_page_title]
Both the real Aladdin and the Wish.com version Disney released in 2019 have something in common. Well, except for the same plot – both movies use a framing device. In the original, Robin Williams voiced a peddler who tries to foist the lamp off on the viewers, whereas in the live-action version it’s Will Smith playing a mariner and telling the story of Aladdin to some kids.

At the end of the movie, we realize he’s the (ex) Genie, and the kids are his and Jasmine’s handmaiden Dalia’s. You know, because what the movie was really missing was a romantic Genie B-plot.
