A retelling of Rapunzel, a 200-year-old German folk tale, Disney wisely retitled the movie to be called Tangled. Interestingly, the idea for a movie based on the Rapunzel fairytale was kicking around Disney since as early as 1996, but they couldn’t make it work until 2010.
In almost a decade and a half, Disney came up with a pretty enjoyable film, even if it felt at times like the House of Mouse was straying into DreamWorks’ Shrek territory. This sum-up actually isn’t bad, technically-speaking – it’s literally what happens at the end of the movie.
