We love Mary Poppins. If your childhood didn’t include that movie, we honestly feel bad for you. Here’s the thing, though – the movie’s really bizarre if you think about it for even a little bit.
First, there’s the nanny who has no record of previous employment, and might secretly be an alien, being hired sight unseen by the kids’ dad – after she brainwashes him. In a different light, this might’ve been a horror movie. Then, Mary fails to prepare the children for life by teaching them that you can literally sugarcoat everything. Somewhere, Wilford Brimley is seething.
