Toward the end of her pregnancy, Keri looked much further along than she was due to extra fluid in her belly – a common side effect from pregnancies involving babies with anencephaly. At around 34-weeks, Keri started having contractions.

This wasn’t a good sign, because it meant Eva could be pre-mature. She needed to be at least five pounds in order to be able to donate her organs. The couple worried, but the baby waited it out and they started to calm down a bit.
