The final stage is to polish the ring until it’s perfect. A lapidary will be used to give the ring some nice sharp edges before the inside is smoothed out using an ‘inside ring finger.’ If you wear a ring, you’ll notice the inside is very smooth where you take it off and on.
This ‘inside ring finger’ just speeds up that same process. Finally, the jeweler will use a polishing wheel which smooths out the entire ring and gives it the shiny finish we come to expect from expensive jewelry.
