Ways to choose a perfume that suits you

Although many people will say that you’re never fully dressed without a smile, we say that you’re never fully dressed until you’ve added a little spritz of something special onto your outfit. While you can go about your day with just some deodorant or body spray, there’s something about adding perfume into the mix that makes you feel so much more confident. You know that you can make an entrance, you know that some people will be able to smell you before they see you, and you even know that some people could be attracted to your scent. However, with so many perfumes out there, choosing the right perfume for you can seem difficult. Wanna know something? It’s not as difficult as you may think…

Are you going for EDT or EDP?

If you’ve ever made your way into a store and stared at the wall of perfume in front of you, there’s a high chance that you were a little intimidated. There are so many scents out there in the world, and then things are made even more difficult when you add EDT and EDP into the mix. EDT stands for Eau de Toilette, and EDP stands for Eau de Parfum – and choosing which one you want to go for will impact your decision greatly. That’s because EDT is normally a much cheaper version of the fragrance, and will only last around two to four hours. However, if you have a bit more money under your belt, you could shell out for EDP, which is much more rich and fragrant and should last you around six hours.

Take them for a test-drive

Although there are many people who fall in love with a perfume on first spritz, there are others who aren’t too sure. After all, there are perfumes that are sweet, others that are much more bitter, and those that are much stronger. If you are a novice when it comes to perfume, then it’s always best to take a few different ones out for a test-drive. You’ll be able to monitor how you feel when you wear this perfume, and you will also be able to see how others interact with you and what they say about your scent. By the end of it, you should hopefully be able to narrow them down and work out which type of perfume is your favorite.

How to choose a perfume that suits you?

Build up a repertoire

Of course, you don’t just have to have one signature scent when it comes to your perfume. If that’s the way that you want to play the game, then that’s totally up to you. Yet, if you don’t want to constrict yourself to just one scent, then why not build yourself up a repertoire? Having various different perfumes to choose from could allow you the chance to mix things up depending on your mood, the event, and your outfit. Maybe pick three or four perfumes that really stand out to you, but just be careful not to go overboard. You don’t want to transform your home into one of those overwhelming stores…

Do you own perfume? Do you think that you’ve found one that suits you? Well, there’s only really one way to find out if it suits you or not, and that’s just to give it a go. You’ll soon work out whether you like it or not, and then you can go from there.
