In fairness, you see this type of stuff a lot. An alarm clock serves a basic purpose, but the user can often bypass what that purpose is. At the push of a button, an alarm clock can be snoozed and turned off completely.
Some people place their alarm clock on the other side of their bedroom, and others will install an app that makes them solve math problems over and over again. There are many different variations, and this is just one of them. It’s quite clever, though.
