Another novel-idea that Charles and Diana introduced was bringing William along with them on an official royal visit to New Zealand and Australia in 1983, when he was just 9-months-old at the time.
Diana said that although they didn’t see much of their son on the trip, she was reassured by the fact that they were all under the same sky, in a sense. Will and Kate adopted this idea, and brought 8-month-old George along on their Australia and New Zealand tour in 2014.
