Gianni first opened his boutique shop in Mila, Italy in 1978, which wasn’t long before the young man became a global sensation. His designs (as you can see through the photos of his homes) took advantage of vivid colors, bold prints and even bolder cuts.
At the time of his ascension to stardom, muted colors and straighter cuts were quite normal. In many ways, Versace helped harbor in a new era of fashion and design that is still impactful to this day.
