When we we fall in love, we often lose all common sense, and our ability to see clearly when it comes to the person we’re falling for. Only long after it’s over can wee see the person for who they really were – and that can sometimes be a pretty sobering wake-up call.
This person is at least at the stage where they can laugh about that doomed relationship they were involved in. But they definitely don’t want to be friends with this ex. Good riddance.
